Seenly privacy

What the Seenly browser extension keeps, what it sends, and who sees it.

Last updated 25 October 2026

The short version

Seenly checks where a website ranks on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Brave by running the searches in your own browser. The websites and phrases you check, your settings and your results stay in your browser and are never sent to us. Seenly asks us for two small files (how to read each search engine’s page, and a list of tips) and, unless you switch it off, sends an anonymous note of whether each engine’s results could be read. There is no account, no sign-in and no advertising.

What stays in your browser

Everything you type and everything Seenly finds is kept in your browser’s storage for the extension, on your computer:

  • the websites you check and compare, the search phrase, the regions and your settings;
  • your earlier results, kept per website, phrase and region so Seenly can show how a position changed (the last 30 checks of each);
  • full reports of your last 20 checks, with every result that was read.

None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. Removing the extension deletes it. Downloading a report’s data saves a file to your own computer and sends nothing.

What the search engines see

To check a ranking, Seenly opens the search engine’s results page in a background tab in your browser, reads where the results point, and closes the tab. To the search engine that is a search made by you, from your browser, with whatever you are signed in to, and it is covered by that engine’s own privacy policy. Checking a region adds that region’s country and language to the search’s address. If an engine asks you to confirm you are human, Seenly leaves its tab open for you to do that and then reads the page.

Seenly reads only the results pages it opened itself. It does not read other pages you visit or your browsing history.

What Seenly sends to us

Seenly talks to seo.llmskillhub.com, run by LLM SkillHub, for three things:

  • How to read each engine’s page. A small file of instructions, fetched about once an hour. Nothing about you or your searches is sent to get it.
  • The list of tips. Seenly shows one tip linking to LLM SkillHub. The whole list is downloaded and the tip is chosen on your computer, so we never learn which website or phrase you checked.
  • Anonymous diagnostics, on unless you switch them off under the panel. After a check, Seenly sends, for each engine, whether its results could be read, how many results were read, and the version of Seenly and of its instructions. Never your searches, your websites, the results or any address. We use this only to notice when a search engine has changed its page and Seenly needs fixing.

Diagnostics are not stored one by one. Each of our servers adds them up in memory and, once a minute, sends a summary to New Relic, the service we use to monitor our servers: for each engine and outcome, how many reports arrived, how many results they read, the versions, the country Cloudflare says they came from, and how many different senders there were. Senders are told apart only inside that one minute’s counting, by a scrambled code that is never written anywhere and cannot be turned back into an address.

What our servers log

seo.llmskillhub.com runs on the same servers as the rest of LLM SkillHub, and its requests are logged the same way: the web server records each request’s IP address, browser and the address asked for, and keeps it for 30 days to stop abuse and to set rate limits fairly. For Seenly that address is only which of the three things above was asked for; your searches and websites are never in it. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects and serves our sites. The LLM SkillHub privacy policy describes those logs in full.

When you click through to LLM SkillHub

The tip, the report’s skill links and the “by LLM SkillHub” link open llmskillhub.com. Those links say they came from Seenly and which one was clicked (for example utm_source=seenly), so we can tell whether Seenly brings people to the site. They carry nothing about your checks. Once you are on llmskillhub.com, its own privacy policy applies.

Why Seenly asks for its permissions

  • Side panel: the whole of Seenly is a side panel.
  • Storage: to keep your settings, history and reports on your computer.
  • Scripting: to read the results on a search page Seenly opened, so it can find your website among them.
  • Access to google.com, bing.com, duckduckgo.com and search.brave.com: opening and reading those engines’ results pages is what Seenly does. It has no access to any other site.

What we do not do

We do not sell or share data from Seenly, use it for advertising, or build profiles of anyone. Seenly has no account, shows no ads from anyone else, and does not change the search results you see.

Deleting things

Removing Seenly from your browser deletes everything it kept there. Diagnostics leave nothing to delete, because no individual report is stored. Server logs are deleted after 30 days. To ask about anything else, write to hello@llmskillhub.com.

Changes

If what Seenly keeps or sends changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top says when.
